WHO WE ARE

The Society for Ecological Restoration (SER) is an international organization dedicated to promoting ecological restoration as a means of sustaining the diversity of life on Earth, and re-establishing an ecologically healthy relationship between nature and culture. SER sees ecosystem restoration as a way to reverse and rehabilitate lost biodiversity. The Society for Ecological Restoration of Niagara College (SERNC) student association was the first international SER student association, formed in 2013 by the students of the Ecosystem Restoration postgraduate certificate program at Niagara College in Ontario, Canada. The SERNC promotes restoration efforts on a local scale in the Niagara region through researching effective restoration methods, the removal of invasive species, raising awareness of environmental issues, and community outreach for the benefit of humans and nature.
